Character Determines Future

Zi Wei Dou Shu (Purple Star Astrology) is a popular fortune-telling in Chinese culture.  It utilise the stars in the skies to calculate the human well being, longevity, sickness, poor or rich.  In ancient times, Zi Wei Dou Shu was restricted to the exclusive and private consultation of the Imperial Emperors only as Zi Wei Dou Shu could provide an elaborate reading too detailed and classified.

I had been study Zi Wei Dou Shu for a while and I found the "system" accuracy is more in determining one's character rather than fortune telling.  The interesting part of Zi Wei Do Shu is the capabilities to reveal your another side of your character.

Character Determines One's Future and Level of Success

Our character is much more than just our reputation.  Reputation is only what others to see and think about us.  Our character is who we really are, even when no one is watching.  Character traits are the qualities that make us who we are.  For example, do you have the character traits of “Attentiveness”, “Alertness”, “Truthfulness”, “Sincerity”, etc.

Success or Failure Results from How We Respond to Life Situations and Circumstances

Our overall character is made up of specific individual traits, or qualities.  Each individual has a different mix of character traits. It is your character qualities, your character traits, that determine how you will respond in any given situation. For example, if you have a strong character trait of alertness you are likely to be a better, safer, driver than a person who does not see or recognize the potential dangers around him (carelessness).  You also will be more likely to recognize opportunities when they are present.  If your character quality of truthfulness is strong, you will be more likely to accurately report the facts in a given situation than a person who tends to be characterized by deceptiveness.  Other people will then recognize you as trustworthy.

How We Respond Determines Our Results

Success or failure in any situation depends, more than anything else, on how we respond to what we are facing.  Therefore, it is our character that determines our success.  Of course, that doesn’t mean that “good” people will always experience more “success” than “bad” people.  There are, however, some character traits that tend to lead to “success” and others that tend to produce “failure.”  For example, having the character trait of “Alertness” can help us to recognize new opportunities.  On the other hand, if we are weak in the trait of “Attentiveness,” we may miss seeing things that would get us into trouble.

So when you read Zi Wei Do Shu guidance book, you shall first check who and when the book being written and how they interpret the meaning of those "Stars". Some characters that are not desirable in ancient China does not mean it is BAD today.
