In the Marvel Universe, Nightcrawler may not be a household name like Iron Man or Spiderman, but his unique charisma and deep story have captivated many fans. The blind lawyer spends his days in the courtroom, and his nights as a masked hero protecting the underprivileged in the shadows of the city.
Recently, Disney+ announced a new Nightcrawler movie, bringing the masked hero back into the spotlight. Today, I'd like to share with you one of the most memorable moments in the Nightcrawler story and explore the life lesson of “change”.
In the play, Matt Murdock helps Aaron, a boy with disabled legs, to win a lawsuit and get a huge amount of compensation for him. However, in the face of Aaron's future, Nightcrawler makes this thought-provoking remark:
“This money has really helped your parents, but for you, Aaron, the road ahead is only going to get harder. You have to realize that right now you're just running the first mile of a marathon. Everyone will tell you what to do about it. Doctors will tell you to be optimistic; family members will tell you not to feel sorry for yourself; therapists will tell you not to get angry. ......”
“I'm already angry.”
“Who's mad at me?”
“everybody's mad at me for wanting my life back.”
"no one can give you that. Maybe you'll walk again. I hope so. But maybe you'll never walk again. But as the road ahead gets harder and harder, you have to have the ability to get over it. This ability is a hundred times more powerful than the ability to go through life with a smile on your face, as if you were fooling yourself and others, pretending that nothing is wrong. Understand?”
This conversation is a powerful reminder of the harsh reality that life is full of variables, and that we can't predict the future, nor can we control it. While Aaron's story is sympathetic, he must learn to accept reality and find the strength to move forward.
Change is a constant in life. It can come in all forms: accidents, illnesses, unemployment, and separation. ...... Every change can take us by surprise and even bring pain and confusion.
However, as the Nightmare says, true strength is not escaping change, but embracing it and finding new direction and strength in it.
